54,000 TULIPS ON DISPLAY AT GARDENS BY THE BAY FLOWER DOME TILL MAY 26, 2024

Tulipmania is back at Gardens by the Bay's Flower Dome for its 10th edition.

Paying tribute to the inaugural floral display in 2013, this year’s Tulipmania features tulips arranged in rows by colour, inspired by traditional Dutch tulip fields.

The display also showcases, for the first time, the modern technology of the Netherlands, such as wind turbines and vertical farming.

New varieties of flowers

Tulipmania features 54,000 tulips of over 20 varieties.

There are four new varieties this year:

  • Tulipa Purple Circus: a fringed tulip that has white flowers with pinkish-purple accents

  • Tulipa Double Negrita: a double-petaled tulip with a velvety purple shade

  • Tulipa Negrita Crown: a dark violet crown tulip

  • Tulipa Crown of Dynasty: a crown tulip that are pink with a cream base

Complementing the rows of tulips are double-petaled daffodils from the Netherlands: the Double Daffodil Heamoor and the Daffodil Peach Swirl.

Adorable models of farm animals can also be seen among the plants.

Traditional and modern in one space

The floral landscape is sprinkled with landmarks of the countryside of old Holland, such as a windmill, water mill and thatched-roof farmhouses.

Standing in contrast to these rural sights are the wind turbines that go as tall as 5.5 metres, showcasing the Netherlands’ evolving focus on sustainability and renewable energy.

Crops like microgreens, and Asian leafy vegetables like choy sum and bok choy can be found in the Mediterranean garden.

Also on display are 104 Delft Blue miniature houses, each modelled after a historical Dutch building.

Ticketing details

For Singapore residents, tickets are S$12 for adults and S$8 for children and seniors.
