DUCHESS OF EDINBURGH, 59, ENJOYS SAMPLING TASTY TREATS

The Duchess of Edinburgh enjoyed a sampling of tasty treats as she attended the Field to Food Learning Day at the Bath and West Show Ground.

Sophie, 59, was all smiles as she tucked into fresh produce at the event in Shepton Mallet during her visit to Somerset on Wednesday.

She appeared in high spirits while walking around the stalls that showed the local region's best selections, including ciders and jams.

One snap saw her marvelling over a tub of fresh apples. In another, she and a group of young children looked at a selection of herbs and grains.

Elsewhere the royal also got to see a bee hive and some sheep in a pen.

Sophie opted for a chic navy coat with golden buttons for the outing, which was belted at the waist.

She teamed her look with an elegant blue scarf and carried a brown leather clutch. The mother-of-two threw her blonde tresses back in an up-do and opted for a simple make-up look with dark eyes and a dusky pink lip.

Sophie has served as Patron of the Association of Show & Agricultural Organisations since 2012.

It comes as  last month, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh got stuck into the task at hand as they visited Right Stuff Amateur Boxing Club in Staffordshire today.

Accompanied by her husband Edward, 59, Sophie, chatted with staff at the club, which strives to tackle youth crime and anti-social behaviour by engaging young people.

The couple chatted with team members and witnessed the children in action - and Edward even took part in a sparring session with a young boxer.

As the aspiring boxer honed her skills, Edward held the punching bag steady so she could take aim - and appeared to give her words of support during the exercise.

Looking typically elegant, the late Queen's daughter-in-law opted for a stylish brown coat and matching suede boots while clutching onto a chic leather Isabel Marant bag.

The Duchess styled her blonde tresses in a bun and wore a glam face of make-up, accentuating her eyes with dark mascara and eye shadow.

Adding a touch of glitz to her outfit, the mother-of-two sported a gold necklace with a paper clip charm.

Matching his wife with a relaxed formal ensemble, Edward opted for a tweed blazer, lilac shirt, and brown corduroy trousers.

The royal couple were all smiles as they watched the children engage in an amateur boxing match.

Right Stuff launched in 2009 following an influx of requests from young people in the area, according to the club's website.

Earlier this year, Sophie also once again showed her support for UK sport last month as she attended the British Cycling National Track Championships in Manchester.

The Duchess, who is Patron of the British Cycling Federation - the body that runs the National Track Championships - was seen speaking to athletes and staff on the first day of the competition.

Wearing sporty stripes underneath a smart, navy blazer by British fashion house Alexander McQueen - retailing for £1,990 on the Harrods website - the royal was certainly dressed for the occasion.

The mother-of-two donned a camel cashmere sweater with red horizontal stripes by US brand Frame, which she paired with navy cropped trousers and tan leather boots by Prada.

She completed the look with a brown, studded bag by French designer Isabel Marant.

Sophie kept her make-up simple and wore her hair tied back, revealing a pair of Tiffany & Co. earrings with the yellow birthstone Citrine.

At the event, which brought together the best British riders, including Olympians, Paralympians and world champions, Sophie was pictured talking to Scottish cyclist Jack Carlin, who picked up both a silver and a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

She was also seen talking to youngster Harry Radford, a track sprinter and part of the Great Britain Cycling Team, as well as event staff at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester.

The royal was joined by her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, and the pair were even spotted trying their hand at adaptive cycles together.
