It's Official: We Found the 40 Prettiest Flowers in the World

How many of these breathtaking beauties do you recognize? As is often the case with beautiful things, we've given flowers meaning—so much so that even looking at one can make you feel more alive. A plain red rose has become a romantic expression of love and sunny daffodils represent the rebirth of the planet every spring. Of course, because they're plants, we also use them in more practical ways: Silky flower petals have been crushed and distilled into essential oils and perfumes for centuries, and we've figured out how to eat some of them and make tea with select leaves, stalks, and blooms. But to put it simply, the joy of admiring a gorgeous, colorful flower is unmatched. (Though we should note that some are best admired from afar because of toxicity.) Not to mention, no two flowers are exactly the same. Some rise out of the water to bloom while others sprout vines that go where they want…permanently decorating the side of your house. Even low bushes can produce incredible blossoms, like giant peonies, and if you've ever sat under a cherry blossom tree with a cool breeze blowing tiny petals around you, you know how magnificent flowering trees can be. A person who loves flowers is called an "anthophile," and if this describes you, you'll probably recognize most—if not all—of the flowers below. Rare or common, bright or soft, simple or complex, these beautiful flowers from around the world are certainly sights to behold.

Looks of love on Harry and Meghan's wedding anniversary

In the run-up to their sixth wedding anniversary, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went on an unofficial tour of Nigeria. Their schedule included events and activities related to their Archwell Foundation and the Invictus Games, a multi-sport event organized by the prince, which was celebrating its 10th anniversary. The couple appeared joyful as they engaged with people across the country, but social media users suggested they looked uncomfortable when 'God Save the King,' was played during a ceremony, likely because Nigeria is a former British colony and the Sussexes have separated themselves from the royal family. Regardless, they seemed very at ease during their visit overall, and were photographed holding hands and kissing. Ever since they made their first official appearance together, Harry and Meghan have completely ignored the royal rules against public displays of affection (PDA). But it's not just the hand-holding and body language that made them the cutest royal couple around–it's those loving gazes that the cameras always catch! As they celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary, check out their best pictures together. From smitten faces to huge events, click on!

Foods you didn’t know you could freeze

With our busy lives, we're constantly looking for ways to save time and money. There are a number of things we can do when it comes to saving time in the kitchen, and the freezer can be our best ally. Many of us are familiar with a wide range of foods that can be frozen. But despite this, most of us will have our freezer filled with meat, fish, some fruit and vegetables, ice cream, and pizza. While these are indeed great foods to keep frozen, there are plenty more we can keep at sub-zero temperatures. Oftentimes, leftovers end up in the trash, but many of the foods we throw away every day can actually have their shelf lives extended simply by freezing them. Some of us might be reluctant to freeze certain foods, either because we think they can only be eaten fresh, or simply because we don't know they can be frozen. Have you ever thought about freezing eggs or potato chips, for instance? How about milk or flour? In this gallery, you'll find a list of foods that can be frozen. As a bonus, we even throw in a few extra tips and hacks to make your life easier in the kitchen. Ready to save time and stop throwing food away? Click on!

These Insanely Helpful Garden Plants Keep the Mosquitoes Away

Say goodbye to the outdoor pests. Bugs come with the territory when you’re outdoors, but some are more tolerable than others. If it feels like mosquitoes are invading your yard, it’s understandable to want to do what you can to get rid of them. Enter mosquito repellent plants. Here’s the thing: Experts say that the best way to keep mosquitoes at bay is to use personal repellents recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). But if you want to go a more natural route, you may be interested in selecting certain plants—they’re just not necessarily guaranteed to work as well as a spray. “The idea that planting certain plants around your home will successfully repel mosquitoes is only supported by anecdotal evidence and not empirical evidence,” says Eva Buckner, Ph.D., assistant professor and state extension specialist at the University of Florida Medical Entomology Laboratory. It’s important to note, though, that there is some evidence that certain plants may help discourage certain mosquitoes from setting up camp in your yard—they just don’t work as well as a chemical or spray. If it feels like your outdoor space is a haven to mosquitoes, it’s a good idea to “eliminate mosquito breeding grounds on and around your property by draining standing water from flowerpots, birdbaths, grill covers, baby pools, and other sources,” says Jim Fredericks, Ph.D., board-certified entomologist and senior vice president of public affairs at the National Pest Management Association (NPMA). Using a small fan outside may also help keep mosquitoes away since “they are not strong flyers,” Fredericks says. But if you like the look and smell of certain plants and want to see if they keep the mosquitoes away, too, there’s no reason not to try them. These are the plants fans swear are most likely to help get rid of mosquitoes. Snap up one or a few to enhance your outdoor space.
