Restaurant chain Bella Italia is giving diners the chance to tuck into their favourite Italian dishes as a lunchtime pick-me-up for less than £8.

At various locations across the UK from now, customers can order either pasta dishes or freshly-made hand-stretched sourdough pizzas as part of the special £7.99 deal.

Guests can save up to £8.50 and enjoy these delicious Italian favourites at less than half the usual price for lunch.

The offer of any one pasta or pizza for £7.99 is valid between restaurant opening and 4pm, from Monday through to Thursday.

Tables must be seated before 4pm for the offer to be valid and customers are asked to make servers aware upon arrival.

Carb-lovers can choose between the classic Carbonara, melting Margherita pizza or Lasagne.

For something a bit different, get your seafood fix with a Gamberoni pasta or a Meat Feast pizza.

The offer does not include the BBQ Chicken Pizza, Spicy Sausage & Chicken Pizza, Beef Tortellini or Marco Polo.

A Bella Italia spokesperson said: 'We know our guests are excitedly saving for the approaching summer holidays but still need to grab a tasty and filling lunch.

'To help, we're thrilled to bring our great quality pasta and pizza options for even better value to keep the nation moving'.

Customers should not that the offer is not available in conjunction with any other offer, set menu, voucher, discount or Tesco Clubcard.

It is also not valid on delivery, take away or click and collect and has no cash value.

Last summer, the Italian chain offered a 30 per cent discount to GCSE students on Results Day on August 24.

Students had to visit bellaitalia.co.uk/offer/students and input their email to get the voucher code, and as with other restaurants had to show proof of GCSE results.

At least one adult main had to be purchased to receive the offer and it was not valid on delivery, take away or click and collect.

The offer was also not available at Center Parcs sites, and Edinburgh Hanover, Edinburgh Northbridge, Inverness or Portsmouth restaurants.
