Brits are rushing to get some bargain fresh veg in for a blow-out Easter Sunday roast as supermarkets slash prices in an attempt to lure in last-minute shoppers.

In the annual Easter price war, the likes of Tesco, Sainsbury's and Aldi have all cut prices on certain vegetables to as low as 15p.

A word of warning to anyone looking to capitalise on the last days of these discounts - supermarkets are operating on different opening hours over the long bank holiday weekend. 

It is also important to be aware that some of the deals require you to be signed up to the relevant brand's free loyalty scheme.

Tesco 15p veg

Tesco are offering customers a range of veg slashed to just 15p until Easter Monday, but offers are only applicable to Clubcard users.

The items available at 15 are: 

  • All Rounder Potatoes, 2Kg, down from £1.39
  • Carrots, 800g, down from 52p
  • Swede, down from 69p each
  • White Cabbage, down from 80p each
  • Brown Onions, 1Kg, down from 99p

Aldi 15p veg

Aldi is slashing even more veg down to 15p, although their deals are only available until Easter Saturday, and Easter Sunday in Scotland.

Their items priced at 15p are: 

  • Potatoes, 2Kg, down from £1.39
  • Carrots, 1Kg, down from 65p
  • Large Garlic Bulbs, 15p each already
  • Red and White Cabbage, cut from 75p each
  • Large Brown Onions, 3 Pack, down from 89p
  • Swede, down from 52p each
  • Fresh Cut Rosemary, 20g, down from 52p

Sainsbury's 15p veg

Like Tesco with its Clubcard, Sainsbury's veg reductions are dependant on shoppers using their Nectar cards.

Sainsbury's veg products reduced to 15p, until Easter Sunday, are: 

  • Carrots, 1Kg, down from 65p
  • Parsnips, 500g, down from 65p
  • British White Potatoes, 2Kg, from from £1.29
  • British Swede, down from 62p each
  • Savoy Cabbage, down from 69p each

Lidl 15p veg

Lidl's 'Easter Veg Pledge' will be running until March 31, and has also slashed a range of veg down to 15p.

Their price-cut offerings are:

  • British Carrots, 1Kg, down from 65p
  • British Swede, down from 62p each
  • Deluxe Echalion Shallots, 300g, down from 99p
  • Spring Onions, down from 59p per bunch
  • Green beans, 220g, down from 89p

Asda 15p veg

Asda is also slashing the prices on some of its veg until Easter Sunday.

Its short-term deals at 15p are: 

  • British Swede, down from 62p each
  • Tender & Crunchy Broccoli, down from 79p each
  • Crisp & Smooth Stringless Beans, 200g, down from £1
  • Crunchy & Sweet Carrots, 1Kg, down from 65p

Morrisons 19p veg

Morrisons have dropped the price of some of their vegetables to a slightly higher price of 19p, also until Easter Sunday.

The new cheap veg there is: 

  • Whole Swede, down from 69p each
  • Carrots, 1Kg, down from 65p
  • Parsnips, 500g, down from 65p
  • Sliced Curly Kale, down from 79p
